Samir Farah

I am a Lebanese-British communication strategist, writer and mentor working at the intersection of identity, credibility, and influence.
My background spans more than three decades in international media, leadership, and advisory roles. I have led large, multicultural teams across borders, languages, and political contexts, and continue to work across media, investment, and leadership development.
Until December 2023, I was a senior leader at BBC, where I served as Head of Journalism for the World Service strategy team, delivering its digital transformation programme. Before that, I was Head and Editor-in-Chief of BBC News Arabic, leading more than 450 journalists across the UK and internationally, and overseeing award-winning journalism reaching tens of millions globally.
I am an alumnus fellow of the Poynter Institute for Media Studies, and a certified Executive Coach and Mentor, with professional accreditation in leadership and coaching in the UK.
I am the Founder of Equitive UK and author of The Communication Advantage executive guide to career advancing communication in the workplace. My work now focuses on communication in unequal spaces - supporting professionals whose identities or backgrounds shape how their voices are heard, trusted, or constrained, and helping them build authority without erasing who they are.
